Georgia E. Soiney, 98
Georgia Elizabeth Soiney, 98, of Austin, died on Aug. 17, 2009 at the Austin Medical Center in Austin.
She was born Oct. 9, 1910 in Dakota, Minn. to George and Julia (Skaar) Gilbert. She attended rural schools in the Canton area where she spent her early years, moving to Austin in 1942. She married Oscar Soiney on Feb. 14, 1928 at the Garness Church near Mable, Minn. Georgia was a longtime member of the Crane Community Chapel. Everything in her life revolved around her family. She is preceded in death by her parents, brother Robert Gilbert and grandchildren Kathy (Soiney) Bundy and Jeff Soiney. 
Funeral services will be held at 11 a.m., Thursday, Aug. 20, 2009 at Crane Community Chapel with the Reverend Dale Christiansen officiating. Interment will be in Woodbury Cemetery in Lyle. Visitation will be at Clasen-Jordan Mortuary on Wednesday from 5 to 7 p.m. and for one hour before the service at the church on Thursday.
Georgia is survived by her sons, Ronald (Jane) Soiney, Austin, Robert (Luella) Soiney, Austin, Richard (Jan) Soiney, Surprise, Ariz.; daughters,  Mickey (Hank) Quam, Austin, Jeanne (Earl) Sanders, Flushing, Mich.; 12 grandchildren; 21 great-grandchildren; four great-great-grandchildren; sisters, Shirley Johnson, Waseca, Minn., Rachel Watson, St. Paul, Minn.; many nieces and nephews.
Memorials are preferred to the Crane Community Chapel or to the donor’s choice.
