Dorothy Dean Espe, 86
Dorothy Dean Espe, age 86, of Austin, died on Aug. 20, 2009 at the Austin Medical Center.
Dorothy was born Nov. 21, 1922 in Clear Lake, S.D., the oldest of four children born to Howard and Eva Allen. On Nov. 21, 1942 she was united in marriage to Raymond N. Espe.
Dorothy was a member of Westminster Presbyterian Church and the Women of the Moose where she received her academy of friendship. Dorothy truly loved her children, grandchildren, and great-grandchildren. Her happiest times were spent with them. Her family, faith and friends were all important aspects in her life.
Dorothy was a homemaker. She liked to garden and bake – her homemade bread was the best. She also enjoyed bingo.
Dorothy will be missed by her family, daughters, LaDonna (Alan) Sisler, Owatonna, Rose (David) Ring, Austin, Bonnie (Greg) Gerber, Austin, Sandra (Larry) Krupicka, Austin; seven grandchildren; five great-grandchildren; brother, Russell (Rose) Allen, Austin; special friend, Marion Zimmerman, Austin; special sister-in-law, Janet Espe, Austin.
She is preceded in death by her husband, Raymond Espe; parents, Howard and Eva Allen; sisters, Helen Majewski and Geraldine Noble.
A funeral service will be held at 11 a.m. on Tuesday, Aug. 25, 2009 at Westminster Presbyterian Church with the Reverend Dr. Andrew Lindahl officiating. Friends may call from 4 to 6 p.m. on Monday at Mayer Funeral Home and also one hour before the service at the church on Tuesday.  Interment will be in Grandview Cemetery.
The casket bearers will be Kevin Sisler, Tim Gerber, Zach Krupicka, Todd Krupicka, Dan Ring and Richard Peterson.
