The Austin girls tennis team took second place in the Packer Invite Saturday in Austin.

The Packers lost a close one Andover 4-3, beat Winona 6-1 and knocked off New Ulm 5-2.

The No. 2 doubles team of Mary Kate Barinka and Kaitlyn Orcutt stayed unbeaten by winning all three of their matches.

“They played super-aggressive tennis and had an unbelievable tournament,” Austin head coach Thomas Tauchnitz said.

In No. 1 doubles, Sam Brucker and Nina Carney went 2-1 and Jordan Flaherty and Alex Larson went 2-1 in No. 3 doubles.

In No. 1 singles, Laura Astrup went 1-2, in No. 2 singles, Sophie Hebrink went 1-2, in No. 3 singles, Megan Zastoupil went 1-2, and in No. 4 singles, Ashley Flaherty went 2-1.
