Sean Plunkett

Sean Murphy Plunkett, 42, of Scottsdale, Ariz., passed away on April 20, 2009. 
After graduating from Creighton Law School he became vice president of the student body of Creighton University.  He attended St. Thomas Military Academy in Minnesota, where he was the speaker of the Crack Drill Squad.  He passed the bar exam and practiced law as an attorney in Minnesota and Arizona and worked for J.E. Murphy Co./American Summit Insurance Co.
Sean was involved in many charitable organizations such as Habitat for Humanity.  WIth his unexpected passing to eternal life, we wish him godspeed. 
Sean will be missed by his two children, Nina and Margot; wife, Mary Theresa;  mother, Mary Anne Plunkett; and sister, Tara Larpenteur Plunkett. Sean is survived by his grandparents, Lorraine Plunkett, of Austin, and J.E. and Darlene Murphy of Scottsdale, Ariz., and other relatives and friends that loved him.
He is preceded in death by his father, Hugh V. Plunkett III, who passed away Oct. 15, 2007.  
A visitation will be held from 5 to 7 p.m. with a rosary at 6 p.m., Monday, July 27, 2009 at Messinger Mortuary, 7601 E. Indian School Rd., Scottsdale, Ariz.  The funeral Mass will be held at 10 a.m., Tuesday, July 28, 2009 at Our Lady of Perpetual Help Catholic Church, 3801 N. Miller Rd. in Scottsdale.  A reception in Sean’s honor will be held following the funeral service in the Courtyard Reception Room at Messinger Mortuary.  Sean will be laid to rest next to his father at the Resurrection Cemetery in Mendota Heights, Minn. Mary Plunkett and Tara Plunkett will be planning a celebration of Sean’s life in late September at the Resurrection Cemetery.
