Herbert Heimer, 80
Herbert Heimer, 80, Adams died Thursday, July 16, 2009 at Mayo Clinic in Rochester.
He was born Aug. 26, 1928 near Johnsburg, Minn. to Joseph and Julia (Krebsbach) Heimer. Herb attended school at St. John’s Catholic School in Johnsburg. During the Korean War, he served as a corporal in the U.S. Army.  On Aug. 26, 1958, Herb married Mary Ann King at the Sacred Heart Catholic Church. Herb worked at the Milwaukee Railroad for 34 years, first in Austin and later in St. Paul and Mason City. In his spare time, Herb enjoyed watching the Twins and the Cubs, gardening, tinkering in the garage, blowing snow, driving tractors, trains, scratch tickets and playing cards. He especially enjoyed spending time with his family and watching his grandkids activities.
Herb is survived by his spouse, Mary Ann Heimer, Adams, Minn.; children, Lynnette (Dan) Barry, Zumbrota, Minn., Lisa (Jerry) Wiste, Adams, Minn., LeAnn (Brad) Emanuel, Adams, Amy Heimer, Rochester, Minn., Ronald (Kathryn) Heimer, Adams;  grandchildren, Lyndsey (Tyler) Lemmerman, Cassie (Eric) Benson, Michael Wiste, Derek Emanuel, Trevor Emanuel, Samantha Emanuel, Emily Heimer, Zachary Heimer, Julia Heimer, Meredith Heimer; brothers and sister-in-law, Kenny (Evelyn) Heimer, Adams, Eugene (Joanne) Heimer, Adams; sister-in-law, Mary Ann (Glenn) Davis, Grand Meadow, Minn.; sister and brother-in-law, Rose Mary (Ernie) King, Austin; brother-in-law, Greg May, Adams.
Herb was preceded in death by sons, Larry, Gary and a baby boy; brothers Sylvester, Cletus, Nicholas, Jerome and Marvin; sisters Marjorie Heimer and Priscilla May. 
Funeral services will be held at 1 PM, Sunday, July 19, 2009 at Sacred Heart Catholic Church with Father James Seitz officiating. Interment will be in Sacred Heart Catholic Cemetery in Adams. Visitation will be at Adams Funeral Home on Saturday from 4 to 8 p.m. with a 4:30 p.m. Rosary and a 7 p.m. Prayer Service. Visitation will also be for one hour before the service at the church on Sunday.
