While Sir Jackson has established himself as one of the best dogs to ever set foot in the dock jumping world with a personal best of 26-feet, six-inches, his five-year old daughter is now the dog making waves both in the water and out.

Sir Jackson has been to the ESPN Great Outdoor Games, the Super Retrievers Crown Championships, the Dock Dogs World Championships, and the DockDog National Championships for five straight years. He also garnered the title of Minnesota-Wisconsin State Champion in 2007.

“Sir Jackson started it all for us with appearances on national TV with ESPN in 2005,” Sir Jackson’s owner and trainer Bob Mallory, who lives in Austin, said. “Since then, he’s been on the Outdoor Channel and Versus many times.

Not one to settle into old age, at eight-years-old, Sir Jackson is still jumping more than an impressive 23 feet.

No it’s his daughter’s turn to make headlines and she is. Savanna Jane had 11 first place finishes from 2007-2008. Like dear old, dad, who was the Minnesota-Wisconsin State Champion in the Extreme Vertical, with a jump of 7-2 and the Speed Retrieve with a time of 5.3 seconds.

Enter 2009, a year when Savanna Jane has already established herself as one of the most talented dogs in the world. She took third place at the Super Retriever Series Crown Championships in May in Little Rock, Arkansas. With that award under her collar, she has an automatic call-back to the 2010 crowns.

That is only the beginning.

Four weeks later, Savanna Jane qualified again for the DockDogs World Championship in Stillwater, Minn. which take place July 23. She will compete with the best 16 dogs in the world as an Iron Dog. What’s an Iron Dog? It’s a new sport that was created two years ago. Iron dogs jump for distance, height and speed to the end of the pool.

Savanna Jane qualified for the DockDog Iron Dog World Championships by winning events in St. Louis and Dubuque, Iowa. She also has a fourth place win in Kansas City. Dubuque cinched her the title of the DockDogs Zone 4 World Champion.

At the Zone 4 Championships, she competed with 85 dogs from eight states, including Minnesota, Wisconsin, Missouri, and Illinois. Her competitors were an amazing group of canine athletes that included two World Champions.

With personal bests of 24-4 in the Long Jump, 7-2 in the Vertical Jump and 5.3 seconds in the Speed Retrieve, she could be a fierce competitor against the 16 other dogs. While Mallory isn’t making any predictions, he’s confident that Savanna Jane will have a great time and give 110 percent like her dad, Sir Jackson, always did.

So as Sir Jackson eases into retirement as a stud dog, Savanna Jane is stepping up for Mallory’s White Labs.

Next month, Savanna Jane is taking time out of her schedule to meet her fans. Bob Mallory will be showing her and the rest of his dogs at Scheel’s sports in Mankato August 1-2. This will be a Super Retriever Series-sponsored event. She will also entertain attendees of the Austin Relay for Life August 1. She has a brand new sponsor, the American Cancer Society.

Savanna Jane can be seen on Versus National Television from August to September Wednesday and Saturday mornings with the Super Retriever Series. Check your local listings for times.
