Anne Belle List, 102, of Austin, died on July 24, 2009 at Austin Medical Center in Austin.
She was born June 19, 1907 in Roseau County, Minn. to Sven and Magdalena (Martensdotter) Hokanson.
Anne graduated from high school at Warroad, Minn. She was married to James E. List on April 26, 1926 in Austin. Anne was a homemaker and she worked in retail sales at the Austin J.C. Penney store and Wallace’s and later was a clerical worker with the Mobile Oil Co. She was a member of the Sterling Christian Church and the Order of the Eastern Star. In 1999 she moved to the St. Marks Lutheran Home in Austin. Among her fondest memories were the summers spent at the cabin on Cedar Lake in the Faribault area, spending winter vacations in Tucson, Ariz. and the annual fishing trips to Canada. At the age of 100, Anne took her last fishing trip to Canada, traveling 300 miles into Canada with her family. Anne enjoyed doing embroidery work and received many Champion and First place ribbons at the Mower County fair over the years.
Anne is survived by her sons, James (Margaret) List, Austin, Dick (Joan) List, Austin; daughter, Patricia (Westley) Botts, Tucson, Ariz.; 15 grandchildren; 35 great-grandchildren; 12 great-great-grandchildren.
A private family funeral service will be held at the Clasen-Jordan Mortuary Chapel with the Reverend Pam Solberg Officiating. Interment will be in Grandview Cemetery in Austin.
