Rodney S. Nelson, 49
Rodney S. Nelson, 49, of Blooming Prairie, died Tuesday, June 16, 2009 at St. Marys Hospital in Rochester.
He was born April 5, 1960 to Mervin E. and Berniece G. (Duken) Nelson in Owatonna, Minn. He grew up in the Blooming Prairie area and married Rozann Anderson in 1985 in Las Vegas. Rod lived all of his life on the farm, loved selling Pioneer seed and was good at it. He loved socializing and making friends and was passionate about politics. He enjoyed arrowhead hunting, fishing, travel, landscaping and motorcycling. Rod was a member of Bethel Baptist Church in Owatonna.
Surviving are his wife, Rozann; daughters, Amber, Ashley and Jenna; brothers, Brian (Lois) Belson, Blooming Prairie, Bruce Nelson, Rochester; mother-in-law, Yoshiko (Yoshi) Anderson, Austin.
Memorial services will be held at 10:30 a.m. Saturday, June 20, 2009 at Bethel Baptist Church, Owatonna with Pastor Steve Anderson, Pastor Josh Amstutz and Pastor Matt Fennell officiating. Friends may call at Worlein-Blooming Prairie Funeral Home from 4 to 8 p.m. Friday, June 19, 2009. There will be no visitation at the church. The family prefers memorials to the Rodney S. Nelson Memorial/Scholarship Fund.
