Recital to benefit music teacher’s mission trip

Trumpeter Jacob Dalager, son of Karl and Holly Dalager, will be performing a benefit recital at St. Olaf Lutheran Church in Austin on Sunday, July 12 at 2 p.m.

A recent St. Olaf College music graduate, Dalager is raising money to fund a year of service through the ELCA’s Young Adults in Global Missions program. He will be volunteering as an English and music teacher at an orphanage in Kota Kinabalu, Malaysia.

The recital will feature a variety of trumpet music as well as some of Dalager’s original compositions, with a brief presentation on the work he will be doing in Malaysia.

Any donations are tax-deductible and can be made out to St. Olaf Lutheran Church. A reception donated by Piggy Blues Bar-B-Que will follow.
