Matchbox Children’s Theatre in Austin is now accepting applications for its Summer Theatre Camp. Even if you have acted in one play, or several plays, there is still so much more that is involved in putting on a play than just acting. The MCT Theatre Camp will focus on all aspects of live stage theatre, from acting to learning about all of the “behind the scenes” workings and people.

Campers will also learn about the process of putting on a play from before auditions to after the performances. Campers will be exposed to musical theatre, choreography, lighting and technical design, directing, stage managing, costuming and make-up.

The conclusion of the camp includes a Friday afternoon performance of camper written and directed skits at the Historic Paramount Theatre.
