Lillie Ida Greeley, 99, formerly of Brownsdale, Minn., died at Prairie Manor Care Center in Blooming Prairie, Minn.
Lillie Ida Wilhelm was born on Aug. 8, 1909, the sixth child of Ludwig and Louisa (Wetzel) Wilhelm in Charleston, Ill. When she was 9 years old, the family moved to Hayfield, Minn. As a young woman she worked in the homes of a number of doctors in Rochester, Minn. The longest and happiest term of employment was with the Dr. Walter C. Alvarez family. She was united in marriage to Stanley Greeley on Sept. 20, 1936, at Trinity Lutheran Church in Waltham, Minn. They farmed rental properties until 1947, when they bought their own farm near Brownsdale. 
Lillie enjoyed yard work, embroidery and playing cards. She lived at the Cedars in Austin for some years, before entering Prairie Manor earlier this year.
Lillie is survived by her daughter, Sara (Lowell) Tollefson, Preston, Minn.; son, Sanford (Shirley) Greeley, Brownsdale; three grandchildren, Shawn (Eric) Johnson, Blooming Prairie, Michael (Heather) Tollefson, St. Peter, Kevin (Kate) Tollefson, Shoreview, Minn.; three great-grandchildren, Joshua Johnson, Maija Lillie Tollefson and Dayne Tollefson; two step-great-grandchildren, Emily and Ryan Imm; sister, Mildred Decker, Rochester, Minn.;  many nieces and  nephews. 
She was preceded in death by her husband, Stanley Greeley on April 22, 1995; three brothers and three sisters.
The funeral service will be at 2 p.m. Wednesday, June 17, 2009, at St. John’s Lutheran Church at in rural Sargeant, Minn. with the Reverend Ronald Prigge officiating. Interment will be in Waltham Township Cemetery in Waltham, Minn. Visitation will be from 12 to 2 p.m. at St. John’s Lutheran Church.
