LETTER: Fishing day a success

Published 11:55 am Saturday, June 13, 2009

The Austin Jaycees would like to thank the community of Austin and the many donors who made this years annual Take a Kid fishing event held Saturday, June 6 at East Side Lake a success. Without the donations from the local businesses and volunteers this event would not be possible. It is an event that allows kids 0-15 to fish with their parents who at the time do not need a license and opportunity to take this experience with them for a lifetime. All the kids received a prize, lunch and the biggest and smallest fish in each category received a trophy.

Thank you to everyone who donated and those parents, grandparents, aunts, uncles and friends who brought kids out to fish and bare the weather this year: A&W, American Family Insurance-Jeff Austin, Ankeny’s #1 (Mark and Jan), Applebee’s, Berkley, Brownsdale Auto Body, Brownsdale Fire Department, CarNu Auto Body, Charley’s Lounge, Complete Automotive Services, Dolan’s Landscape, Eagles, Farmers & Merchants Bank, Fleet Farm, Harty Mechanical, Hiawatha, Holiday Inn, Hormel Foods, Hy-Vee Foods, Izaak Walton League, Lefty’s Bar, Mapleview Lounge, Medagardens Southwest Sales, Moose Lodge, Roger & Sons, Ruskell Hardware, Southeastern MN Police Officers Association, Trimble’s Honda, Triple J Disposal, Troy Nicols Complete Auto Repair, Wangen Automotive, Wrads Rags and Awards, Gabrielson Insurance, Apollo Superette, Fox Electric, Akkerman INC., McNeilus Truck and Mfg, Perkins, Dan Jennings, Firestone Tire, Chateau Speedway and Wellness Chiropractic.
