Jane Taylor dancers excel in competition

Students at the Jane Taylor Academy of Dance have had a busy season.

The Jane Taylor dancers were awarded first place high school overall production in the Senior Division at Challenge Cupdance competition (Senior and Junior Companies) and also third high score overall solos in the Senior Division (Hailee Hart).

In addition, they were awarded two platinum Awards, four Top Of the Categories, 19 high first (High Gold) awards and 11 first (Gold) awards.

The Jane Taylor Senior Company received a special award at Starpower competition.

Some students from Jane Taylor Academy of Dance will be competing at Masquerade dance Nationals in July.

The Jane Taylor Academy of Dance will hold its 45th annual recital at 7 p.m. Saturday at Austin High School’s Knowlton Auditorium.

Tickets are $5 and will be sold at the door. All proceeds from the rose sale will be donated to the Leukemia & Lymphoma Society.

This past season, the team from Jane Taylor Academy of Dance presented the Leukemia & Lymphoma Society with nearly a $500 donation.

Jane Taylor Academy of Dance students this year include Alexis Balgeman, Chelsea Holst, Mariah Nagel, Amy Johnson, Hailee Hart, Emily McAlister, Ashley Schoonover, Stephanie Kasel, Paige Goetz, Emily Sundal, Nikki Stoltenberg, Jordan Flaherty, Annamarie Hernandez, Riley Powell, Sarah Belden, Stephanie Holtorf, Alix LeBarron, Jessica Tan, Kathy Salazar, Kyra Carney, Kendall Hull, Laura Ferguson, Jenna Anderson and Betsy Ettinger.
