Harold LaVern Andrews, 77
Harold LaVern Andrews, 77, of Austin, died on June 20, 2009 at his home.
He was born Feb. 26, 1932 in Austin to Harold and Vera (Merrill) Andrews. On Dec. 28, 1962 he was united in marriage to Phyllis Wood at Crane Chapel in Austin. LaVern was a member of the U.S. Navy and served his country in the Korean War. He enjoyed his grandchildren, hunting, fishing and spending time outdoors. LaVern worked as a laborer at Elk River Cretex in Austin.
Survivors include his wife, Phyllis Andrews, Austin; children, Alan (Darla) Andrews, Lake Mills, Iowa, Steve Andrews, Austin, Jeff (Gina) Andrews, Chesapeake, Va., Jody (Dan) Skorr, North Mankato, Minn., Sue Andrews, Austin; 11 grandchildren; sister, Beverly Unverzagt, Dexter, Minn.
He is preceded in death by his parents, Harold and Vera Andrews; brother, Richard Andrews; father-in-law and mother-in-law, Orrin and Agnes Wood.
Graveside services will be held at 2 p.m. on Tuesday, June 23, 2009 at Rose Creek Enterprise Cemetery with the Reverend Randy Swanson officiating. Military rites will be by American Legion Post #91. The family will greet friends at a luncheon at Crane Chapel following the service.
