Darlo Iverson

Darlo Iverson, age 80, of LeRoy, Minn., died Thursday, June 4, 2009 at her home.
Darlo was born on Aug. 22, 1928 in Deer Creek, Minn. to Adolph Wickstrom and Geneva (Green) Wickstrom. She attended Deer Creek Public Schools and graduated in 1946. She earned her degree from Moorhead State Teachers College in 1948.
After her graduation, she taught for one year in Adrian, Minn. before moving to LeRoy, where she continued teaching until 1953. Darlo was united in marriage to Vernon “Chub” Iverson on June 22, 1951 in Bowling Green, Ohio. They lived and farmed in LeRoy until moving to Alaska for Chub’s military assignment in 1954. They returned to LeRoy to resume farming 19 months later. In 1967 they moved to the Iverson farm southwest of LeRoy.
She is survived by her husband: Vernon “Chub” Iverson, LeRoy; three daughters: Deb Meyer, LeRoy, Pam (John) Koster, Rochester, Minn., and Colette (Bill) Miles, LeRoy; four grandchildren: Jessica and Jenna Meyer, and Lauren and Clayton Koster; four step-grandchildren: Christopher, Michael, Elizabeth and Thomas Miles; sister-in-law: Ethel Wickstrom; two nieces and five nephews.
She was preceded in death by her parents; her brother, Gary; and her infant sister, Gracia.
Funeral services for Darlo G. Iverson will be held at 10 a.m. on Wednesday, June 10, 2009 at the LeRoy Lutheran Church with the Reverend Thomas Kolden officiating. Burial will be in the church cemetery.
Friends may call at the Hindt Funeral Home in LeRoy from 4:30 to 7:30 p.m. on Tuesday and one hour prior to the service at the church on Wednesday.
