ALL HERALD BASEBALL TEAM

First base: Mark Harber, Austin

Harber, a senior, was an All-Big Nine selection and he hit .347 with five doubles, two triples and 13 RBIs while maintaining an on-base percentage of .420 for the Packers (5-16 overall). On the mound, Harber was 2-4 with a 3.85 ERA, while striking out 25, walking nine and allowing 44 hits in 36.1 innings.

Second base: Matt Schroeder, Southland

The senior lefty hit .438 with an on-base percentage of .644 for the Rebels (17-10), while getting 10 doubles, one triple, one homer, 16 RBIs, 35 runs, and 16 stolen bases. The leadoff hitter had a .625 slugging percentage while striking out just eight times in 104 plate appearances.

Shortstop: Tyler Krekling, Hayfield

Krekling, a sophomore, hit .319 last season with three doubles, a triple, a homer and 11 RBIs, while scoring 21 runs for the Vikings (14-11 overall). Krekling had an on-base percentage of .442 and had a fielding percentage of 85.9 percent. As a pitcher, Krekling was 6-1 with a 2.76 ERA.

Third base: Israel Clark, Blooming Prairie

Clark, a senior, hit .329 with an on-base percentage of .420 for BP (19-6 overall). He added nine doubles, 16 runs, and 23 RBIs. Clark went 7-4 with one save as a pitcher while allowing 66 hits, 19 walks, and striking out 66 in 67 innings of work.

Catcher: Travis Kauffman, Hayfield

Kauffman, a senior, hit .292 with three doubles, a triple, a homer, and 16 RBIs. Kauffman had a fielding percentage of .934 while making 131 putouts.

Left field: Cody Meyer, Lyle/Pacelli

Meyer, a junior, hit .620 with six doubles, four triples, a homer and 21 RBIs for the Athletics. He stole 18 bases and scored 21 times. On the mound, he was 5-3 with a 1.59 ERA. He struck out 76 in 39.67 innings, while allowing 25 hits and 16 walks.

Center field: Austin Moe, Blooming Prairie

Moe, a senior, hit .418 with an on-base percentage of .489 for the Blossoms. He also had three home runs, eight doubles, and five triples, while scoring 28 runs, stealing eight bases, and having 29 RBIs. Moe never committed an error all season in the outfield.

Right field: Alan May, Southland

May, a sophomore, hit .253, but had an on-base percentage of .543. He had five doubles, one triple, 22 runs, and 23 RBIs while providing a ton of speed in the outfield. As a pitcher, May was 5-2 with a 1.02 ERA, while allowing 35 hits, 14 walks and striking out 52 in 48 innings.

Pitcher: Chris May, Southland

The junior was 6-3 with a 1.74 ERA while allowing 49 hits, 18 walks and striking out 57 in 64.1 innings. He hit .367 with an on-base percentage of .560, while getting nine doubles, two triples, 29 RBIs, 26 runs, and 13 stolen bases.

HONORABLE MENTION

Pitcher Ben Pollock, Hayfield

Pollock was 4-4 with a 3.14 ERA while pitching eight complete games and one shutout.

Second base: Steven Rizzi, Austin

Rizzi, a senior, hit .290 with a double, a triple and three RBIs, while holding an on-base percentage of .398. Rizzi was also paired with shortstop Joel Swatfagger to form a lethal double-play combo this past season.

Third base: Adam Hemann, Austin

Hemann, a senior, hit .294 with an on-base percentage of .316 while getting four doubles and seven RBIs for the Packers.

Shortstop: Josh Toquam, Blooming Prairie

Toquam, a senior hit .342 with an on-base percentage of .441 while getting a homer and eight doubles. He also scored 31 runs and had 16 RBIs. As a pitcher, Toquam was 5-0 with a 0.78 ERA in 18 innings of work. He allowed 11 hits and four walks while striking out 17.

First base: Matt Zellmer, Blooming Prairie

Zellmer hit .300 with an on-base percentage of .411, while getting five doubles, one homer, 22 RBIs, and 25 runs.
