Velva Charlotte Kirchner, 94, died April 29, 2009, at  the Owatonna Hospital in Owatonna, Minn. 
Velva Charlotte Lee was born on Feb. 15, 1915, the daughter of Joseph and Mahlia (Tatum) Lee in Mower County, Minn. Velva was raised in the Dexter, Minn. area. She was united in marriage to Vern Clyde Kirchner on April 30, 1938, in Northwood, Iowa. Velva and her husband farmed in the Brownsdale area for many years. She enjoyed gardening and going for drives. Velva was a member of the First Baptist Church in Brownsdale, Minn.
Velva is survived by her daughter, Marilyn (Stephen) Erickson, Lanesboro, Minn.; special friend, Brenda Willmott, Austin, Minn.; five grandchildren, Bill Erickson, Rosemount, Minn., Stephanie Schumacher, Prior Lake, Minn., Angie Kirchner, Faribault, Minn., Leoma Kirchner, Washington, Leah Kirchner, Minneapolis, Minn.; four great-grandchildren, Lauren, Jacob, Dylan, Faith; and many nieces and nephews. 
She was preceded in death by her parents; husband, Vern on March 21, 1995; sons, Jimmy and  Leon; one sister, Resa Rabine; and one brother, Joseph Lee.  Czaplewski Family Funeral Home is in charge of arrangements.
The graveside service for Velva Charlotte Kirchner will be 1 p.m. Tuesday, May 5, 2009, at Greenwood Cemetery in Brownsdale, Minn. with the Reverend Jerry Harris and Reverend Kraig Elliott officiating.
