They are, promoters say, “back by popular demand.”
The Rooftop Band returns to the Lighthouse Event Center for two encore performances of “Come Together for the Beatles” at 7:30 p.m. Friday, May 29 and Saturday, May 30.
On Jan. 30, 1969, the Beatles played a live concert atop the roof at Apple Records in London.
The performance turned out to be the last of the British group’s distinguished pop music career together.
The “Fab Four” performed eight songs for the mid-day crowd in downtown London before police came and shut down the rooftop concert.
Two generations later, the Rooftop Band recreates the magical times and music with their tribute to the Beatles.
Darryl Amundson plays bass and performs vocals. Jamie Kyllo plays bass and Merle Krause plays drums. Peter Jacobs plays piano and keyboards. Brandon Krause and Jeff Hanson will perform on guitar and contribute vocals. Sam Hastings will add his own guitar licks.
Tickets for the “Come Together for Songs of the Beatles” concert by the Rooftop Band are available at Tone Music, Albert Lea, and Coffee House on Main, Austin. They are $12 in advance or $15 at the door both nights.
The Lighthouse Event Center is located at 638 Marshall St., Albert Lea.
