The Heroes Campaign for the Mower County Chapter of the American Red Cross continues through May.

Money is being raised at various banking institutions throughout Mower County.

Sterling State Bank in Austin and Lyle are raising funds by selling wooden roses. The roses are made of balsam wood and many think they look real.  They are sold in single and dozen packages.

There are also many flower arrangements for sale made up using the wooden roses. The arrangements make ideal gifts for any occasions such as hospital visits, nursing homes, birthdays, “thank you” gifts or just to say warm wishes to a friend.

The arrangements vary in price and are an ideal way to donate to the local American Red Cross.

Anyone who has not seen the wooden roses may stop by the Sterling banks in Austin and Lyle anytime between 9 a.m. and 5 p.m. Monday through Friday.
