The Austin baseball team let one slip in it’s regular season finale Thursday in Seltz Field.

The Packers (5-15 overall, 3-15 Big Nine) fell to Faribault 5-4 after the Falcons scored two unearned runs in the top of the seventh to take the lead.

Faribault loaded the bases off of two walks and hit batter when Austin dropped a two-out fly ball on a short fly ball to right field and two runs scored on the play.

Offensively, the Packers mustered just two hits, but Adam Hemann had a big one with a two-run single in the third inning that saw Austin score all four of its runs.

“We just couldn’t hit the ball tonight and it wasn’t necessarily because of their pitching,” Austin head coach Troy Watkins said.
