Lillian L. Loewen, 86
Lillian Lucille Loewen, 86, died on May 5, at Fieldcrest Care Center.
Lillian was born Aug. 31, 1922 in Ventura, Iowa to Albert and Harriet Shuck. The family moved to Austin when she was a young child. She married Alfred “Pete” Loewen on July 2, 1937. The Majority of her life was spent as a homemaker, however, she held positions as a Justice of the Peace and as the first female police commissioner in Austin. She enjoyed collecting antiques and sharing her faith in Christ with others. She loved spending time with family and friends.
She is survived by two daughters, Bonnie (Clair) Harvey, Jackson, Mich., Roxanne (Vern) Dunham, Austin; seven grandchildren and seven great-grandchildren.
She was preceded in death by her parents, husband, sister and two half-brothers.
A memorial service is planned for Friday, May 8, at 1:30 p.m. at Crane Chapel, 1111 9th Street NE.
