Both Lyle/Pacelli golf teams picked up wins Friday as the boys won over Mabel/Canton with a score of 213 (M/C had an incomplete score) and the girls won 283-348 over the Comets.

Matt Buntje medaled for the boys (5-3 SEC) and Emily Leif medaled for the girls (2-5 overall, 1-5 SEC).

The boys were without four of their varsity regulars so Garrett Jenkins, who shot a 59, made his varsity debut as well as a couple of others.

“I had a chance to see what a couple of these kids can do who normally don’t play,” L/P head coach Mark Buntje said. “They got to see what it’s like to play in some rough conditions.”

It was the first SEC win for the girls team.

“It’s good to get that win,” Buntje said.
