Carroll Baugh

C. Dean Baugh, age 77, of Grand Meadow, formerly of Jefferson, Iowa, died Thursday May 7, 2009 at his home following a brief illness with cancer.
Carroll Dean Baugh was born Oct. 30, 1931 in Carroll, Iowa to Grover Baugh and Leona McCullaugh Baugh. He spent his childhood in the Bagley, Iowa area.
On June 17, 1950 he was united in marriage to Patricia May Waldo at the Jefferson Gospel Church in Jefferson and together they farmed for 20 years in the Grand Meadow area where they raised their family.
They returned in 1975 to the Jefferson area, where he owned Baugh Iron and Metal with his brother, Bud. In 1978 he retired from WCI. In June 2007 they returned to Grand Meadow.
He enjoyed gardening, camping, fishing and his family.
He is survived by a son; Dennis (Cheri) Baugh of Grand Meadow; five daughters: Carol (Joe) Johnson and Connie (Jim) Leichtnam of Grand Meadow, Ruth (Larry) Nold of Elkton, Rhonda Randleman of Jefferson, and Sheri Greer of Grand Meadow; 21 grandchildren; 43 great-grandchildren; his mother-in-law, Evelyn Waldo of Perry, Iowa; sisters, Pearl Henke and Marry Bell of Stewartville and Darlene Peters of Glidden, Iowa; and a sister-in-law, Mary Jane Baugh of Friend, Neb.
He was preceded in death by his parents; wife, Patricia, in February 2009; a grandson, Michael Dean; four sisters and four brothers.
Friends may call at the Grand Meadow Lutheran Church in Grand Meadow on Sunday May 10, 2009 from 4 to 7 p.m. and one hour prior to the service on Monday.
Funeral services for C. Dean Baugh will be held 11 a.m. Monday May 11, 2009 at the Grand Meadow Lutheran Church in Grand Meadow with the Reverend Rod Block officiating. Burial will be in the Grand Meadow Cemetery.
