The Austin boys golf team fell a little short of what they were hoping to do when they took sixth place in the Big Nine Meet in Winona Monday.

On a day where just four golfers shot below 80, Austin finished with a score of 338. Century took first with a 319.

“It was not a good day for us and it was one of our highest scores of the year,” Austin head coach Will Pazurek said. “I was hoping for a better performance.”

Austin’s Nick Tabor tied for fifth place with an 80, and James Thorson, who shot a 90, hit a hole-in-one on a 190-yard PAR three hole.

“I’ve never seen a hole in one in all my time coaching so that was cool,” Pazurek said.

Austin’s Drew Osier shot an 81 on Monday and was selected to the All-Big Nine team after averaging a score of 81.7 this season.

With its win, Century tied with Mankato West for the Big Nine Conference Championship.

Austin finished fourth in the Big Nine standings.

The Packers will now turn their attention to the Section 1AAA meet in Bellwood Oaks in Hastings, Minn. The meet takes place Thursday and May 26.

“We’ve got a lot of work ahead of us, but I know we’ve got it in us,” Pazurek said. “We’ve just got to put it together.”

Austin scores: Tabor, 80; Osier, 81; Luke Hoefflin, 88; Drake Brehmer, 89; Thorson, 90; Garrett Erstad, 90
