The Packer baseball team got hits from eight different players in a 7-4 win at Mankato East Wednesday.
Austin (5-14 overall, 3-14 Big Nine) jumped out to a 5-0 lead, but the Cougars scored their only four runs of the night in the fourth when Mark Harber had his only two walks.
“Mark was pretty much in control besides the fourth,” Austin head coach Troy Watkins said.
Watkins said the Packers missed a few opportunities as the Cougars committed six errors, but he was pleased with the win.
“We had some chances to score some more, but it’s nice to get a much needed win,” he said.
Austin will close out the regular season when it hosts Faribault Thursday at 5 p.m.
