The Lyle/Pacelli softball team pulled off a split with Mabel/Canton, losing the opener of a doubleheader 8-7 in eight innings and taking the nightcap 5-4 in Todd Park Thursday.

The Athletics held off a late rally that saw M/C score three times in the fifth inning of the second game.

In the opener, L/P (4-10 overall) scored seven times in the bottom of the seventh to force extra innings as Schyler Douglas capped the big rally with a two-run single.

M/C won the game with an unearned run in the top of the eighth.
