Two Riverland pitchers honored

Two Riverland players were selected co-pitchers of the week for the MCAC Southern Division recently.
Brady Banse, a sophomore from Forest Lake, Minn. and Brandon Huhn, a sophomore from Appleton West, Wis., received the nomination after they each led the Blue Devils (14-5 overall) to wins last week.
Banse had a seven-inning shutout in a 5-0 win over Northland. In the win, Banse allowed four hits and one walk, while striking out three.
Huhn pitched in a 4-1 win over Anoka-Ramsey. Huhn went seven innings, allowing five hits, one walk and a run, while striking out 10.
On the season, Banse is 2-1 with a 1.53 ERA in 18 innings, while allowing 18 hits, eight walks and striking out 14.
Huhn is 2-1 with a 3.06 ERA in 16 innings, while allowing 14 hits, five walks, and striking out 23.
RCC hosts Hibbing in a doubleheader at 2 p.m. Thursday and the Blue Devils host Dakota County Friday for a 2 p.m. doubleheader.
