Take pride in Austin

Spring cleaning awaits. Homeowners will spend hours in the upcoming months figuring out what they need and what they don’t and getting their homes ready for summer.
Just as our houses, apartments and condos need a good cleaning from time to time, so do our neighborhoods and communities.
The third annual Austin Community Pride Day is slated for April 25 from 9 a.m. to noon. Volunteers will meet at the parking lot of the Austin Municipal Pool.
The next organizing meeting will be held April 21 at 8 a.m. at the Parks, Recreation and Forestry office, and those interested in taking part in Community Pride Day can call the parks and rec office at 433-1881.
We should all be doing our part in making sure Austin is kept clean. It only takes a moment to pick up that pop can or hamburger wrapper when we see it.
But a Community Pride Day is a good idea because it brings residents together for one collective effort, a nice complement to the individual efforts that should already be taking place.
