Pacelli High School religious education students got into the true Easter spirit on Friday when they performed “Live Stations of the Cross” at St. Augustine’s Catholic Church.
The 14 stations depict the events between the condemnation and burial of Jesus. The presentations will conclude with the resurrection.
The students were put in groups and each group was assigned a station. The method of presentation was left to the group’s descretion.
Some students decided to have a still with narations, and other’s acted out the scene.
“(The students) like to do something tangible, that they can put their creativity into,” said Jeff Austin, Jr. of Pacelli’s Religious/Campus Ministry.
Each station was accompanied by a student narrating what was happening in the scene and offering a prayer appropriate to the theme. They also related a message of how each scene could be applied daily life.
