The announcement was made at Tuesday’s regular meeting of the advisory board. The board members toured the newly remodeled Family Thrift Store after their meeting.

Also, the officer in charge reminded the public the Salvation Army’s new collection center is located at 704 10th St. N.E.

At that location, volunteers sort donated items for display at the Family Thrift Store.

Also, baling operations have been moved from the old location to the new collection center site.

Interested donors will find the new collection center which displays the familiar Salvation Army red shield at the site.

The Austin Area Chamber of Commerce’s Ambassadors team will visit the Family Thrift Store at 9 a.m. Friday, May 8 to recognize the remodeling and upgrading of the Chamber member business.

Also Tuesday, the officer in charge reminded advisory board members of the Friday, May 29, “drive through barbecue” fundraiser from 11 a.m. to 2 p.m.

The public is invited to participate in the lunchtime fundraiser.
