The public is invited to inspect the new Mower County veterans transportation program van Tuesday morning.

According to Wayne Madson, the county veterans service officer, the Mower County Board of Commissioners will accept the keys to the van in ceremonies scheduled to begin at 10 a.m. Tuesday in the Austin-Mower County Law Enforcement Center parking lot.

Mower County veterans organizations are also being invited to see the new van.

The veterans service organizations embarked on a fundraising campaign a year ago to purchase a replacement van which is used to transport veterans to official medical appointment throughout the state.

The new van has been painted and detailed and will be on display Tuesday morning, Mason said.
