Mark C. Schaefer, 52
Mark C. Schaefer, 52, of Loves Park, Ill., died unexpectedly from a heart attack on April 9, 2009 in his home.
Born March 12, 1957 in Austin, the son of Orin and Marjorie (Kiewatt) Schaefer. He married Denise Montgomery on Aug. 7, 1982. Mark worked at Ingersoll as a machinist for 25 years. He enjoyed fishing, playing softball and bowling and was an avid Vikings fan.
Survivors include his children, Andrew Schaefer, DeKalb, Ill., and Kara Schaefer, Salt Lake City; sisters, Ann (Danny) Lee and Karen (Tim) Davidson both of Austin; wife, Denise Schaefer; nieces, nephews, aunts and uncles.
He was preceded by his parents.
Visitation will be from 6 to 8 p.m. on Thursday, April 16, 2009 in Sunset Funeral Home, 8800 N. Alpine Rd. Rockford, IL. Funeral services will be at 10 a.m. on Friday, April 17, 2009 in the funeral home. Graveside services at 11 a.m. on Saturday April 18, 2009 in Oakwood Cemetery in Austin.
