The Lyle/Pacelli softball team almost pulled of an 11-run comeback, but it fell short by a final tally of 17-15 in Todd Park Tuesday.
The Athletics (1-3 overall, 0-3 SEC) trailed 11-0 after two innings, but they scored seven in the fourth and four in the fifth to pull closer.
“We got our runs playing small ball and it was a pretty good comeback,” L/P head coach Denny Bray said.
In the sixth inning, L/P had runners on second and third with one out, but it’s No. 3 and No. 4 hitters both struck out to end the threat.
“It could’ve been a different ball game if we get a hit there,” Bray said.
