Lucille Mary Baudler, age 86, died on April 24, 2009. 
Lucille was born on Nov. 14, 1923 to beloved parents Carl and Julia Baudler and she spent 85 years as a resident of Austin, a town she was proud to call home.
Lucille received both a bachelor of arts and master’s degree in psychology from the University of Minnesota.  She was active in Democratic politics all of her adult life and was a true liberal, long before the term was coined. Lucille was an ardent opponent of United States involvement in the Vietnam War and was a passionate supporter of the Civil Rights Movement and equal rights for women. 
Lucille loved classical music and her trips to see the Minnesota Orchestra with her dear friend Janet Dickson were some of her favorite memories.
Lucille cherished being part of the Baudler family and was proud of her family’s heritage and deep roots in Austin.  She was an integral part of life for her niece and nephew, Ellen and Tom Baudler, and their families.  A day at Aunt Lucille’s provided unconditional love, attention and appreciation for the bounty provided by a simple existence.  She will be greatly missed.
Lucille was preceded in death by her parents: Carl and Julia Baudler, and brother and sister-in-law, Richard and Bernice Baudler.  She is survived by niece Ellen Baudler (Jack Cann), St. Paul; Tom Baudler (Lisa) of Austin and her dear grand nieces and nephews, Michael, Kathleen, and Mary Cann and Natalie, Ingrid and Tony Baudler.
Services will be held at St. Olaf Lutheran Church on Tuesday, April 28, 2009 at 11 a.m.  Memorials are preferred to the Minnesota Orchestra, Lutheran Social Services, or St. Olaf Lutheran Church.
