Danny Wayne Swenson age 54, of LeRoy, died Thursday April 2, 2009 at his farm surrounded by his family and friends following a short battle with cancer.
Danny was born Nov. 22, 1954 in LeRoy to Henry and Helen (Wierson) Swenson Jr. He attended and graduated from LeRoy-Ostrander High School in 1972 and farmed all his life. He Loved the outdoors, farming and his family. He was always willing to help out a neighbor or friend.
Danny was a loving son, brother, brother-in-law, uncle, great uncle and friend to all those who knew him. He will be sadly missed by his family, friends and neighbors.
He is survived by his mother, Helen Swenson, LeRoy; one brother, Dennis Swenson, LeRoy; four sisters: Elly (Pete) Horsman, Spring Valley, Minn., Dory Swenson, LeRoy, Diane (Randie) Olsen, Blaine, Minn. and Barb (Larry) Peters, LeRoy; 12 nieces and nephews: Kristie, Chastidy, Chad, Korey, Missy, Stacy, Andy, Susie, Amy, Alisha, Lance and Nicole; and 10 step-nieces and nephews.
He was preceded in death by his father Henry Jr.; two sisters: Colleen and Susan; and grandparents: Henry and Margaret Swenson and Marion and Cordilla Wierson.
Friends may call from 4 to 8 p.m. on Sunday April 5, 2009 at the Hindt Funeral Home in LeRoy and one hour prior to the service at the church. Funeral services will be held Monday, April 6, 2009 at the LeRoy Lutheran Church in LeRoy with the Rev. Thomas Kolden officiating. Burial will be in the Bethany Lutheran Cemetery rural LeRoy.
