A Blooming Paire basketball player will get one last chance to take the court in his high school career.

BP senior guard Matt Zellmer will play in the inaugural Tri-State All Star Basketball Games Saturday, April 11, at Winona State University’s McCown Gym in Winona, Minnesota.

The event will feature contests and games for elite high school boys’ and girls’ basketball teams from Minnesota, Iowa and Wisconsin.

“The events are focused on the outstanding careers of many of our region’s top basketball athletes,” stated event director Dan Ninham of Bemidji, Minnesota. “It is a showcase event and one of the first in our region to have competition between the three states.”

Most of the players have not decided on college choices although some have made commitments. College coaches in an eight-state radius of the event will be contacted to attend.

“We have 66 athletes who will represent their states greatly,” added Ninham.  “We are expecting top quality play and goodwill among the participating players and fans.”

Admission for the event is $10 for adults and $5 for students.

LeRoy/Ostrander girls basketball coach will co-coach the Minnesota junior girls team.
