Austin boys golfers win home opener

The Austin boys golf team edged out Century by 10 strokes winning 323-333 Tuesday in Austin, a day after the team beat Mankato East 339-396 on the road Monday.
On Tuesday, Century’s Zach Orebeck took home the meet medal with a score of 77. Austin’s Drew Osier was just behind with a score of 78.
On Monday, Nick Taber of Austin was meet medalist with a score of 82.
So far, the Packers are not too pleased with their early results, as only one player has shot below an 80.
“For this time of the year it’s hard to expect too much, but the guys aren’t happy with where they are,” Austin head coach Will Pazurek said. “I’m expecting all of our varsity guys to consistently be under 80. The more we get outside and play the better we’ll get.”
