Austin Public Schools strives to make our schools a place of excellence for students and families. One of the goals of Austin Public Schools is to continue to increase the percentage of parents/guardians who are satisfied/very satisfied with a number of areas in the schools. They measure this through parent surveys handed out to parents Pre-k through 12th grade in February.
More than 1,300 parents responded to the survey questions, and Austin schools continue to be rated very high by parents.
Bruce Anderson, interim superintendent of Austin Public Schools, said the survey results are important because education is a “two-way partnership.”
“As interim superintendent, you couldn’t be more pleased with the results of the survey,” Anderson said. “Nine out of 10 are satisfied … it’s absolutely encouraging. Nine out of 10 in this age — when it’s so easy to find fault rather than good — it’s absolutely outstanding.”
Anderson said parents in the district have shown they want to play an active role in their children’s education.
When referencing several other districts he has worked in, Anderson said Austin’s survey is extremely positive.
