Mervin Burton Felty, 85
Mervin Burton Felty, 85, of Brownsdale, passed on to be with the Lord Monday, March 2, 2009 at Three Links Care Center in Northfield. 
He was born Jan. 5, 1924 to Vernon and Helen (Beneke) Felty in Waltham Township, Minn., where he grew up on a farm. He attended school in Waltham and after graduation from Austin High School in 1942, he began his own trucking service. He married Cornelia Bonnes on Jan. 15, 1944 at Brownsdale Baptist Church. They made their home in Brownsdale, where Mervin continued to operate Felty Trucking until its sale. He then drove bus and truck for Cedar Valley until illness required retirement and a move to the Care Center. A member of First Baptist Church in Brownsdale, he enjoyed camping, music and visiting friends and family.
Survivors include his loving wife of 65 years, Cornelia; daughter, Carol Ault, Blaine; son, James (Dee) Felty, Easthampton, Mass.; two grandsons, Timothy (Christie) Ault, Brandon (Lisa) Ault; granddaughter, Jessica (Matthew) McDaniel; great-granddaughters, Kaylea and Alannah Ault; great-grandson, Logan Ault; three step-grandchildren, Lindsey, Melissa and Ross; sister, Shirley (David) Orth, Austin; brother, Frank (Lois) Felty; nieces, nephews, other relatives and friends.
He was preceded in death by his parents, Vernon and Helen Felty; brother, Sidney.
Memorial services will be held at 10:30 a.m., Friday, March 6, 2009, at First Baptist Church in Brownsdale with Pastor Jerry Harris and Pastor Kraig E. Elliott officiating. Friends may greet the family at the church one hour before the service.  Worlein Funeral Home in Austin is in charge of arrangements.  A private interment is at Grandview Cemetery.  The family prefers memorials to Three Links Care Center, Pathways Unit, in Northfield.
