Good character should be a must for our children and students. It can inspire them to work as a team in the classroom, help out in their communities and treat others the way they would like to be treated.

Ellis Middle School and Austin’s Hy-Vee food store have teamed up to reward Ellis students who exemplify good character.

Last week, selected students were treated to a buffet of hotwings, pizza and other foods in recognition for their efforts.

Our schools need more programs such as this one because character can go a long way in inspiring our students to become better people and to help make a difference in our communities.
