Then, Ian Shapinsky, concert pianist, takes the stage at 2 p.m. Sunday.

Coming Saturday, April 4, is Up ‘Til 2, an a capella group, featuring an Austin native, Donovan Germain.

The jazz quartet includes John Paulson, Mike James, Larry Dalton and Josh Shively.

They are considered a perfect combination of artists and educators.

The group entertains with improvisation and original composition.

Paulson has been a professor of music/jazz studies, woodwinds and music industry program at St. Mary’s University, Winona, since 1981.

He has five recordings to his credit and has performed with the Cab Calloway Orchestra, Bob Hope, Mel Torme, Johnny Mathis, The Temptations, Charlie Byrd and Andy Williams.

Being an artist and educator makes Paulson well-suited for concerts and clinics.

Friday’s performance will be his first at the Paramount Theatre in Austin.

Tickets are $12 for adults and $6 for students.

His Sunday concert will be a mixture of virtuosity, musicianship, sensitivity and humor as Shapinsky demonstrates his versatility by playing a wide range of popular piano styles.
