Snater and Fadness compete at state gymnastics meet

Two Austin gymnasts competed in the Class ‘A’ state gymnastics meet at the University of Minnesota Sports Pavilion Friday.
Seventh grader Sela Fadness took 30th in all-around competition, and 31st in individual vault competition, and junior Sabrina Snater finished 26th in floor exercise and 31st in the bars.
“The girls had a good day, not a great day we definitely did not hit every routine the way would have liked to but we knew that going up to the state tournament for the first time would be a learning experience for everyone,” Austin head coach Mark Raymond said.
In the all-around, Fadness had a total score of 34.200, while getting an 8.275 in the vault, an 8.215 on the bars, an 8.425 on the beam, and an 8.375 on the floor exercise. Sabrina Hoover of Rogers was first overall with a total score of 38.00.
Fadness scored an 8.725 in the individual vault competition. Jenna Woelfel won that competition with a 9.6750.
Snater scored a 7.1125 on the bars, which were won by Jenna Schmitz of Perham, who scored a 9.7125.
In the floor exercise, Snater scored an 8.9625. Carmen Lundell of Breck/West Lutheran won the event with a score of 9.5875.
There were at least 32 individual competitors in each event.
