Published 2:23 pm Wednesday, February 25, 2009
It’s that time of year again to win some prizes and help out the environment on the same night as the Mower County Habitat and Pheasants Forever will host it’s Ninth Annual Banquet at the Austin Holiday Inn Saturday with the doors opening at 5 p.m. and dinner being served at 7 p.m.
The live auction will include a chocolate female Labrador, valued at over $2,000. The dog is about 15 months old, has been obedience trained and hunted over. Also in the auction will be a one week’s stay at an upscale cabin in South Dakota and a Framed limited edition print, “Hasty Ascent” by David Maass.
The winner of this print will be entered into a nationwide drawing for a Fall 2009, all expenses paid Midwestern pheasant hunt with Ron Schara, shown on PF Television
There will be 15 guns and a $1,000 Dewalt tool set raffled off as well as many other items.
Mower County Habitat and Pheasants Forever has reinvested $670,000 in 21 projects, covering 815 acres in Mower County over the past eight years.
“We’re not an organization that just sits around,” Chapter President Sue Olson said. “We do a lot around Mower County.”
Banquet tickets are available at Double K Specialty, Austin Daily Herald, and any committee member. You can also download a ticket order form at mowercounty.pheasantsforever.org
There is a limit to 300 tickets this year and there will likely be no more than 75 tickets available at the door Saturday.
A single ticket for the event is $50, a couple’s ticket is $70 and Ringnecks (ages 15 and under) get in for $20.
