Miss Minnesota Angela McDermott of Austin will be appearing at the International House of Pancakes in Bloomington (directly behind the Mall of America) to celebrate National Pancake Day on Feb. 24. McDermott will be there from 9 a.m. to noon signing autographs and flipping pancakes in support of Children’s Miracle Network. From 7 a.m. to 10 a.m. IHOP will give people a free short stack of their buttermilk pancakes if the public will consider a donation to support local children’s hospitals through Children’s Miracle Network. More than $875,000 was raised in 2008 on National Pancake Day, and IHOP gave away more than 1.5 million pancakes.
Since beginning its National Pancake Day celebration in 2006, IHOP has raised nearly two million dollars to support charities in the communities in which it operates. Last year, the Bloomington IHOP location ranked sixth in the region for fundraising for Children’s Miracle Network on National Pancake Day.
The IHOP in Bloomington is located at 2231 Killebrew Drive—right behind the Mall of America.
The Bloomington IHOP is also a sponsor of the Miss Minnesota Organization, providing breakfast for contestants from across the state during the week of competition in June.
