Emma M. “Jackie” Schieck, 80
Emma Mary “Jackie” Schieck, 80, of Springfield, Mo., died on Feb. 16, 2009 at the Christian Health Care Center in Springfield.
Emma was born Dec. 18, 1928 to Luther and Maude (Barber) Yeadon. Emma married Christoph Schieck on July 2, 1950 at Trinity Lutheran Church in Waltham, Minn. They made their home in rural Waltham until Christoph’s death in 1973. She then moved to Stratford, Mo., where she resided until her death. Emma’s greatest loves were her children, grandchildren, great-grandchildren, gardening and cooking.
Emma is survived by her five children, Terry (Ann) Schieck, Adrian, Minn., Connie (Ron) Helgeson, Springfield, Mo., Linda (Tim) Pursell, Portland, Ore., Larry (Connie) Schieck, Round Lake, Minn. and Abraham Schieck, Kansas City, Mo.; 12 grandchildren; 15 great-grandchildren; sister, Luella (Henry) Schuman, Stewartville, Minn. She is also survived by many nieces and nephews.
She was preceded in death by her husband, Christoph, in 1973; her parents; three brothers and two sisters.
Funeral services will be held at 11 a.m. Friday, Feb. 20, 2009 at the Worlein Funeral Home Chapel with the Reverend Jeffrey Kuddes officiating. Visitation will be Thursday, Feb. 19, from 6 to 8 p.m. at the Worlein Funeral Home in Austin, and on Friday one half hour prior to the service. Burial will be in the Trinity Lutheran Cemetery, rural Waltham. Thank you to the Christian Health Care Center for their compassion and care.
