A large crowd is expected at Sunday’s family workshop on Caring for Creation.
All churches within a 50-mile radius of Austin have been invited to send delegates from their congregations.
The event is being billed as an intergenerational workshop and resource fair to show “how individuals can get involved to take care of the world.”
The resource fair will be held 1:30 to 2 p.m. and 4:30 to 5 p.m. Sunday.
The workshop is scheduled 2 to 4:30 p.m. Sunday.
According to organizers, the intent of the workshop is to share a “biblical basis on ‘creation care’ and how churches and their communities can effectively do so.”
The cost is $5 per participant.
Free child care will be available.
The events are being presented by the Lutheran Coalition on Public Policy in Minnesota, ministry of the Evangelical Lutheran Church of America ELCA and St. Olaf Lutheran Church of Austin.
The Austin Coalition for Environmental Sustainability is responsible for the resource fair.
