ALBERT LEA — It’s time to welcome spring to Albert Lea with a special tribute band.
Pete and the Parrot Heads will bring their tribute to Jimmy Buffett to the Marion Ross Performing Arts Center at 7:30 p.m. Friday, March 13.
Band leader Pete Hall describes the event as a “Jimmy Buffett tribute show” and a lot more.
“We play Parrot Head music, old beach party stuff and surfing music like ‘Wipe Out,’” he said. “We wear Hawaiian shirts and jump around. We’re billed as the world’s funniest beach party band.”
Pete and the Parrot Heads performs classic Jimmy Buffett songs like “Margaritaville,” “Cheeseburger in Paradise,” “Come Monday” “Five O’clock Somewhere” and many more.
The band features Pete Hall on guitar, bass, harmonica and vocals; Steve Pinkney on guitar, mandolin, slide guitar and vocals; and Dave Ludington on drums. The band will have you movin’, groovin’ and having a great time throughout their entire performance.
The band has performed across the country and in Canada, England and Japan. They have performed with Chuck Berry, Jerry Lee Lewis, Bob Segar, Buddy Guy, Mitch Ryder and Iggy Pop.
“I figured that we’re pretty close to spring by March 13,” said manager Patrick Rasmussen. “Even if winter is making its last stand, there’s no better way to let spring in with Jimmy Buffett and beach music.”
“I hope people find their Hawaiian shirts, dance in the aisles and celebrate the end of winter,” he said.
The Parrot Heads will be performing in concert for one night only at the Marion Ross Performing Arts Center in Albert Lea March 13.
Tickets are available at Doyle’s Hallmark for $15.
