The Lyle Fire Department and a Mower County Deputy responded to a car fire just north of Lyle Wednesday.

According to the Mower County Sheriff’s Department, Heather Henamen, 25, of 501 Fourth St. in Lyle, was driving a 1995 Mazda Coupe, registered to her boyfriend, Jacob McAlister, of the same address, northbound on Highway 218 when the car began to overheat and started on fire.

Henamen escaped uninjured but the car was a total loss.
