Lucille A. Kiefer, 89
Lucille Agnes Kiefer, 89, of Taopi died on Jan. 13, 2009 at Adams Health Care Center in Adams.
She was born May 19, 1919 in Lemsford, Saskatchewan, Canada to Herbert and Martha (Baker) Struwe. Lucille was married to Floyd P. Kiefer on July 15, 1936 at the Sacred Heart Church in Adams. They resided in Taopi and she was a member of the Sacred Heart Church, WCCW and the Taopi Women’s Club. Lucille enjoyed baking and cooking and spending time with her grandchildren.
Lucille is survived by her sons, Clifford (Liz) Kiefer, Taopi, Minn., Chuck (Mary Ann) Kiefer, Taopi, Herb (Ruth) Kiefer, Taopi, Lester (Alice) Kiefer, Taopi, Earl (Sue) Kiefer, Taopi; 19 grandchildren; 39 great-grandchildren; sister-in-laws, Beverly Struwe, Grand Meadow, Norma Kiefer, Taopi.
She was preceded in death by her husband; daughter, Bonnie; grandson Tom Kiefer; sisters, Leona, Ethel, Florence and Mary and a brother, Wayne.
A funeral mass will be celebrated at 11 a.m., Friday, Jan. 16, 2009 at Sacred Heart Catholic Church with Father James Seitz officiating. Interment will be in Woodlawn Cemetery in Taopi. Visitation will be at Adams Funeral Home on Thursday from 4 to 8 p.m. and for one hour before the service at the church on Friday. Casketbearers will be her grandsons, Gene, Ray, Dan, Curt, Ted, Tony, Wayne, Daryl and Brad Kiefer.
