Kay J. Bonnell, 68
Kay Jean Bonnell, 68, of Austin, died on Jan. 3, 2009, at the Austin Medical Center.
She was born on April 11, 1940, in Estherville, Iowa the daughter of LeRoy and Mildred (Peterson) Erickson. She moved to Austin where she graduated from Pacelli High School in 1958. After graduation, Kay moved to Colorado where she worked as a ward secretary in a local hospital. After moving back to Austin in 1993, Kay continued to work as a ward secretary at Austin Medical Center, retiring in 2004. She loved to grow flowers, camp, crochet and NASCAR racing. She was a member of Queen of Angels Catholic Church and the VFW Auxiliary.
Survivors include her son, Michael Heinicke, Austin; grandson, Derek Ressler, Blooming Prairie; father, LeRoy Erickson, Austin and many other relatives and friends. 
She was preceded in death by her mother, Mildred; son, Robert Heinicke in 1992 and her brother, Gary Erickson.
Memorial services will be held at the Worlein Funeral Home Chapel of Austin at 2 p.m., Wednesday, Jan. 7, 2009 with Father Dale Tupper officiating. Visitation will be held one hour prior to the service at the funeral home. Memorials are preferred to the American Cancer Society.
